Get Hitched, Give Hope
A Seattle 501(c)(3) non-profit
Get Hitched, Give Hope was created with the goal of bringing together Seattle wedding professionals in the spirit of giving. Volunteer run and produced, Get Hitched, Give Hope created and promoted a series of social events including HopeChest wedding rummage sale, HopeBrew brew-fest for charity, and an annual bridal auction and gala. These events fundraised for selected charitable beneficiaries through ticket sales and the auction and raffle of premiere goods and services donated by local vendors. Together, we raised more than $760,000 for The Dream Foundation, Mary’s Place, & Young Survival Coalition, among others.
My role: I volunteered with Get Hitched, Give Hope for seven years, serving in varying capacities as public affairs liaison, social media marketer, newsletter and donor communications lead, website content creator, art director, and graphic designer, and for two years was selected to lead a team of six as the VP of Marketing.
Impact: My team helped raise $110k in 2014 and $118k in 2015 for a lifetime total of more than $760,000 donated to beneficiaries of Get Hitched, Give Hope through donor communications and nonprofit events.
My contribution to the selected items below includes poster and advertisement design and layout (Havana Nights), photography, art direction, and poster design (A Love for All Seasons), HopeChest postcard design and content, blog content development (HopeChest, Charlene’s dream), photography (Charlene’s dream), and newsletter design and content (Black & White Ball).

2010 Launch Party
As the Get Hitched, Give Hope media correspondent in 2010, I was interviewed at our launch party to promote that year’s Get Hitched, Give Hope annual charity auction and gala, the first at the new Seattle Four Seasons Hotel, and the first where we exceeded our fundraising goals — by $14,000!
